It took 30 minutes - less than normal, despite the Zil lanes.<br /><br />However, what I did notice, or rather what I didn't notice, was private cars. After eliminating any car with a TfL hire-car roundel in the back, I counted three, in the entire return journey.<br /><br />On those banned turns, if ever I need to make one I will apply the court decision in Crank v Brooks - once you step off your bicycle and push it along, while you walk with both feet making ground contact, you revert to being a pedestrian. What you then do might not always be wise, but it can't be prosecuted as a road traffic offence.<br /><br />The only vehicle I can envisage this being possible with is a bicycle - or perhaps a 50cc moped.
