Oxford Speed Cameras - Back On Again

Various news sources including the BBC report that after turning off its speed cameras in August, Oxfordshire will be getting the extension leads out of the broom cupboard and plugging them back in again. Why the change of heart? The number of drivers speeding past the cameras had risen by up to 88%. As Cycalogical correctly predicted would happen.
So it looks like the crowing over the death of speed cameras by deluded petrolhead pressure group 'Safe Speed'/'SpeedCamera.org'  may have been a tad premature. Philip 'Killer' Hammond was unavailable for comment...

  1. Wouldn't it have been better if they'd just turned the cameras on without telling anyone, and then let all the people caught speeding work the fact out for themselves?
